Río Embudo Birds

Observing: Local Bird Walks

Dixon/Embudo:

I maintain an email list people in the Dixon/Embudo area that go out birding. If you would like to be added to that list or if you have questions, please email me at:  rt@rioembudobirds.org.

There people at all skill levels in the group. It is a good way to get started. The walks are usually on Friday or Saturday mornings.

Santa Fe:

The NM Audubon Society hosts a bird walk every Saturday morning at the Randall Davey Audubon Center & Sanctuary at the end of Upper Canyon Road. The walks are lead by volunteers from the Sangre De Cristo Audubon Society of which I am one.

The walks begin at 8:30 AM and all levels of birders are welcome. For more information, visit the Randall Davey Audubon Center website.

Introductory birding classes are also offered periodically at the Randall Davey Center. You can get details on the website.

Taos:

A birder from Pilar, Meg Peterson, sometimes leads Saturday morning birdwalks in the Taos area.

For more information, you can email her at: mpriogrande@gmail.com

Sangre de Cristo Audubon Society Field Trips:

The Sangre de Cristo Audubon Society chapter serves the northern New Mexico area. They sponsor a dozen or so birding outings each year. For detailed information, visit the Sangre de Cristo Audubon Society website. You will see a link for field trip information.
